The Colorado Springs City Council has dismissed an ethics complaint against council President Richard Skorman.
He was accused of abusing his position in city government.
There was a traffic crash involving Skorman’s friend in March, and Skorman asked those involved to exchange information, without contacting police.
The city’s ethics commission determined last month that a violation occurred.
The Gazette reports, the council majority said Skorman did not seek special treatment as city council president.
