Colorado Springs Utilities says last week’s fire at the Martin Drake Power Plant was caused by an oil leak that spilled onto a very hot surface.
The damaged turbine is now back online.
Drake is set to be decommissioned no later than 2035.
A public workshop will be held in January to discuss ways to replace the aging facility.
CSU hopes to present a plan to the utilities board next summer.
