CDOT is explaining why it closed a lane of southbound I-25 as hockey fans were trying to get into Saturday’s NHL Stadium Series game at the Air Force Academy.
CDOT says they had no plans for the lane closures before the event, but several potholes opened up south of County Line Road and immediate repairs had to be made for safety reasons.
Crews closed one lane of the highway for about 45-minutes at around 2:00 p.m. the closure added to the slowing for fans trying to get into the Springs.
