The 4th Judical District Attorney’s office in the Pikes Peak region has ruled a Fountain Police officer was justified in shooting a man March 2nd in Colorado Springs. Fountain Police Sergeant Stephen Williams was riding with a Springs police officer as part of an area law enforcement agency formed to investigate auto thefts. A call came in of a stolen vehicle. Williams, the springs officer, and 2 other members of C-S-P-D stopped a stolen car and chased a man to West High Point Lane. The suspect had a gun, and fired a shot in the air, then put the gun to his head, and finally pointed it at police. Williams fired, hitting the suspect, identified as 22 year old Tyler Frisch. He continues to receive treatment for a bullet wound to the stomach. Once released he faces 1st degree assault of a peace officer and other charges.
