COLORADO SPRINGS – You may have to start carrying more change in the car if you plan on spending time in downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City on a Sunday.
The Colorado Springs City Council is making sure it’s legal for the city to start charging to park downtown on Sundays. Previously, there was no charge to park, however, the council passed an ordinance this week that keeps parking free until 1:00 p.m. for church and restaurant goers. After that, normal parking fees will apply.
The new rules will go into effect once the city reinstates its parking fees, which have been suspended during the Coronavirus emergency to encourage more people to visit businesses and restaurants offering curbside and take-out services.
