CDOT closing lanes on I-25 for the weekend

COLORADO SPRINGS – Construction work on the GAP Project on I-25 is taking place over the weekend. CDOT is closing down the northbound lanes of the interstate at County Line Rd. at about 6:00 p.m. tonight and they’ll reopen the lanes Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.

Crews switch sides and close down the southbound lanes at 6:00 p.m. Saturday night. They’ll remain closed until 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning. CDOT says they’ll have a detour in place during the work and they believe drivers will only experience a 10-minute delay. Crews are working on a drainage project and doing asphalt work. The Gap Project is the 18-mile long stretch between Colorado Springs and Castle Rock. Work isn’t expected to be completed until sometime in 2022.

If you don’t want to deal with I-25 at all, you can always use Highway 83 or even Highway 105.
