SECURITY-WIDEFIELD – A teenager wanted in connection with a shooting in Security-Widefield is facing charges in El Paso County court. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says late Tuesday night, a 14-year old boy shot and seriously injured an 18-year old man on Caballero Avenue, in a neighborhood west of Fountain Mesa Road, at around 9:45 p.m.
When deputies arrived, they found a person with a gunshot wound, and they were transferred to a hospital for treatment. The 14-year old left the area after the shooting and officers searched for the boy until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when he was found and arrested without incident.
He is facing an Attempted Murder 1 charge and a Prohibited Use of a Weapon charge. Due to his being underage, no other details are being provided.
