COLORADO SPRINGS – Three people are recovering from minor injuries Friday morning after two cars involved in an illegal street race caused an accident that closed down Powers Blvd between Astrozon and Fountain for hours on Thursday night.
Officers say the race started on Murray Blvd. and when they attempted to pull the cars over, the drivers took off. One of them crossed over the median into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle. The driver, 18-year old Nathan Smith was arrested and he’s now facing multiple charges.
