Cubs “bearing” it all in Colorado Springs

By Nia Bender

COLORADO SPRINGS – Here’s a dose of Tuesday morning cuteness. A couple of bear cubs are now safely tucked into an animal rehabilitation center in Wetmore this morning after they were rescued by Colorado Springs firefighters and members from the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

The first cub was rescued from a tree near I-25 and Fontanero on Sunday. The second cub was found at Acacia Park on Monday. Both little bears were tranquilized and driven to the center in Wetmore. While they’re there, they can be treated for some injuries and then be taken care of until they’re a little bit bigger and older.

Both cubs are expected to be released back into the wild eventually.
