Hundreds turn out for Bandimere Speedway’s “Stop the Covid Chaos” rally

MORRISON – A rally at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison last night attracted hundreds of people. You didn’t see many masks and social distancing wasn’t something a lot of people followed. The speedway is suing the state over health orders designed to limit the spread of COVID-19 after they were attacked by the Jefferson County Health Department a couple of months back.

The Bandimere family believes the orders from Governor Jared Polis and his administration are unconstitutional, so they held the “Stop the Covid Chaos” rally.  Owners faced a backlash from the Jefferson County Health Department after a July 4th event and they’re required to receive approval before hosting gatherings attended by more than 175 people. Bandimere did not receive approval for last night’s event and it turns out the county health department does not have the capability to prevent gatherings like last night’s.
