COLORADO SPRINGS – Several inches of snow fell Monday night, making for a very slick drive in most areas Tuesday morning. The City of Colorado Springs and Fountain are both on “Accident Alert” as a result. But exactly what does that mean for drivers involved in an accident?
Drivers need to file an accident report as soon as possible and you can do so under the following guidelines:
Nobody died in the accident;
Nobody was injured in a way that required medical attention;
There was no hit-and-run;
The accident did not cause damage to public property (other than wildlife);
The drivers involved are not suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and all of the drivers involved have current and valid insurance and driver’s licenses
If those conditions aren’t met, then the drivers are required to contact the local police for further instructions. You can access an accident report by clicking here.
