No new growth expected with the Marshal Fire

Officials provided an update Friday morning on the Marshal Fire burning in Boulder County. as of Friday afternoon, there are about 200 people in emergency shelters. Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle says there are 2 thousand homes in the Marshal Fire burn area, but not all are lost. meanwhile, there are over 500 homes lost in Superior and dozens more near marshall. The fire is estimated at six thousand acres and is not expected to grow. No casualties are reported at this time, and officials say this is nothing short of a miracle. Both superior and Louisville are under boil water advisories due to the marshal fire. The Colorado Department of Health and Environment is asking the community the boil any water they drink or drink bottled water. health officials say the area experienced a loss of water pressure while crews extinguished the flames. That loss of pressure may allow disease-causing organisms into the water distribution system.
