El Paso County has seen over 5,500 COVID cases in the last week. That’s one of the highest incidence rates since the start of the pandemic. Springs area hospitals are preparing for a surge in COVID patients in the coming days. Since December 1, over 400 people have been hospitalized with COVID in El Paso County. Across the country, over a million people were diagnosed with COVID-19 yesterday alone. On average, more than 300,000 people nationwide are testing positive every day.
