Law enforcement continues to piece together a shooting that left a suspect dead Saturday night in Northern El Paso county. State Patrol tried to pull over a vehicle after a menacing call near Exit 163 and southbound I-25. The driver crashed. They tried to carjack a vehicle, but were unsuccessful. The person fled and wound up inside a home in Monument in the 20 thousand block of Doewood Drive. A spokesperson for the Colorado State Patrol says the suspect fired at officers. A state patrolman and an El Paso County deputy returned fire, killing the suspect. That person has not been identified. The Colorado Springs Police department will handle the investigation.
