One day left until Election Day!

By Nia Bender

We’re a day away from the election. Voters have until 7 p.m. Tuesday night to get their ballots turned in. Many believe Colorado’s results will be known much faster than the numbers nationwide. Delays may come from the overwhelming response to mail-in ballots across the U.S.

For many voters across the country, mail-in ballots are not the norm, and it’s all-new territory for them. That’s not the case here in Colorado. We’ve been voting by mail for several years and we have a great structure for it in place. Some states aren’t allowed to start counting their mail-in ballots until Tuesday.

Meanwhile, many cities across the nation are preparing for possible civil unrest as a result of the election results. Denver sent letters to many of the businesses downtown to be prepared for the worst. Many business owners opted to board up their windows and they say they’ll keep them that way until the threat has passed.
