County coronavirus update

El Paso County Health officials gave the El Paso County Board of Commissioners an update on increasing covid cases in the county Tuesday. New numbers show in 1 month our average number of covid cases jumped from 133 a day to 215 per day. Most of these cases have been identified as the Delta variant, which is affecting younger people more, but causing fewer deaths. Dr. Robin Johnson, medical director for the El Paso County Health Department indicated 95% of those becoming sick have not been vaccinated.
