Former City Councilmember Richard Skorman has announced his support for two candidates to fill the open seat on the city council. The vacancy on the board was created by Skorman when he stepped down last year. Skorman says he supports either Toby Gannett or Terry Martinez to fill the open space representing District 3. Martinez is a former principal and former council member-at-large, and Gannett is a business leader with expertise in affordable housing and the outdoors. Skorman says Gannett and Martinez are long-time residents of the Springs and are committed to service. The city council will meet tomorrow afternoon to discuss the next steps in the appointment process. They have until January 30, to appoint a new council member.
