Crash in Briargate Knocks Out Power

A driver is facing DUI charges after they crashed into a transformer and caused a fire. Springs firefighters say that this was in the Briargate area, near Chapel Hills Drive and Mulligan. The impact to the transformer knocked out power for nearly 200 people in the area, and then the box caught on fire. Springs Utilities and Firefighters worked together to get the flames under control and the power back on last night. No one was hurt during the accident, according to police. The suspect driver’s name has not yet been released.
