It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and C-DOT is warning everyone not to take the chance of drinking and driving. The Colorado Department of Transportation says that with all the consequences of driving under the influence, it’s not worth testing your luck. Last year, 27 people were killed in crashes involving drunk drivers on El Paso County Roads — an increase from 2021’s numbers. Law enforcement across the Pikes Peak Region will be on the lookout for impaired drivers today. So far, this year, C-DOT says that 912 people have been arrested for DUI statewide in enhanced enforcement periods. Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub and C-DOT have partnered together to give out $10 ride-share cards, to encourage people to get a ride home — instead of driving.
