Colorado Springs man stabbed while trying to stop shoplifters

COLORADO SPRINGS-Officials with the Colorado Springs Police Department say a good Samaritan was stabbed several times after confronting shoplifters. It happened Wednesday at the Home Depot at East Woodmen and North Academy. Authorities say the victim spotted the suspect, 27-year-old Jeremy McIntyre, leaving the store without paying for items. Investigators have identified him as a prolific shoplifter. The victim then followed McIntyre outside the store, where he met up with another suspect, 22-year-old Krysten Goodmen, who police say also had stolen items. The victim followed the pair to the 6800 block of crest hill view, where both suspects were hiding behind a fence. During the confrontation, the victim was stabbed multiple times but managed to restrain McIntyre and Goodmen until witnesses stopped to help.
