COLORADO SPRINGS-Starting Monday, a new school zone near Doherty High School will be activated. This follows a deadly crash involving a student last month. The zone includes flashing 20 mph speed limit signs with road markings on Barnes Road between Austin Bluffs and Oro Banco. The school zone will be active on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7 am to 7:50 am and Wednesday from 7:55 am to 8:45 am. In addition, the school zone will be active Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 3:50 pm.
