Colorado Couple facing serious charges after child’s death

We’re learning new details about the death of a baby in Crowley County. The parents, Jason and Joy Soltani, are facing multiple charges, including criminally negligent homicide in connection to the death. On August 9th, 2021, first responders were called on reports of an unresponsive baby. The infant later died at a hospital in La Junta. Meanwhile, a search warrant was executed, and authorities discovered an 18-year-old woman, and 6 other children were also living in the small home. The Soltanis were not there at that time. Investigators believe the suspects allegedly withheld food and water and physically abused the children. The pair initially fled but were later located and arrested.  Since the investigation began, Joy has given birth to an 8th child and was allegedly pregnant when arrest papers were filed late last month. They are set to appear in court on May 9th.
