A police officer is alive thanks to his bulletproof vest. It happened during a shooting in Denver Wednesday morning. Officials say the officer was inside his patrol car near a hotel when he spotted a man go inside the building. Within minutes, the same man came out of the hotel with a gun and shot at the officer through the passenger window. According to DPD, the officer was struck multiple times but was able to escape out of the driver’s side door and return fire. The suspect was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one involved is identified.
