Judge announces the unsealing of arrest records in the Halford case

Friday in court, a judge announced plans to unseal arrest records for Jon and Cari Halford, the couple accused of improperly storing bodies at the Return to Nature Funeral Home in Penrose. During the hearing, the judge said he spent time weighing the decision but decided the public had a right to know the seriousness of the allegations. Both defense attorneys for the Halfords objected to unsealing the documents saying it could jeopardize the Halfords’ right to a fair trial. Officials say the arrest papers will not be unsealed until Jon Halford’s preliminary trial ends next month.
