New Legislation Could Make More Requirements for Towing Companies

THERE IS NEW LEGISLATION THAT WOULD REGULATE THE TOWING BUSINESS. IF PASSED, THIS BILL WOULD MAKE IT SO TOW TRUCKS WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PATROL PRIVATE OR RESIDENTIAL PARKING LOTS WITHOUT PROPERTY OWNER PERMISSION. ALSO, THE OWNER CAN’T HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH OR RECEIVE ANY FINANCIAL INTEREST FROM THE TOWING COMPANY. IT WOULD ALSO FORCE PROPERTY OWNERS TO PUT UP MORE TOWING SIGNAGE. A COUPLE OF THE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE BEING PRINTED IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH AND HAVING TO BE VISIBLE ENTERING AND INSIDE THE PROPERTY.
