CSFD Officials Propose a Plan To Take Over Ambulance Services in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS WILL GO BEFORE CITY COUNCIL TODAY TO PRESENT A PLAN TO TAKE OVER AMBULANCE SERVICE IN COLORADO SPRINGS. AT THE MOMENT PRIVATE CONTRACTOR, A-M-R IS THE AMBULANCE SERVICE PROVIDER IN THE CITY. SPRINGS FIRE OFFICIALS BELIEVE BY BRINGING THAT SERVICE UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IT WOULD RESULT IN SAVING MORE LIVES, FASTER RESPONSE TIMES, AND LOWER COSTS FOR RESIDENTS. COLORADO SPRINGS MAYOR YEMI MOBOLADE IS IN SUPPORT OF THE PLAN. THE CONTRACT WITH A-M-R WILL EXPIRE IN A YEAR.
