What was meant to be a triumphant full-circle moment at Coachella has taken a stressful turn for Madonna. Three days after her surprise appearance with Sabrina Carpenter, the pop icon took to Instagram to announce that the archival Gucci jacket, lilac corset, and boots she wore on Friday night, the same pieces she debuted at the festival 20 years ago, have gone missing.
Investigators believe the two bags containing the history-making garments may have fallen off a staff golf cart while being transported to a tour bus at the Empire Polo Grounds around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. While there is no evidence of intentional theft, Madonna has issued a heartfelt plea and an unspecified reward for their safe return, stating, “These aren’t just clothes, they are part of my history.”
In addition to the performance outfit, other archival items from the 2006 Confessions era are also unaccounted for.
