Beginning August 1st if you want to buy an A-R or A-K style rifle or certain kinds of shotgun’s a new Colorado law will require you to take the following steps. Residents must apply online for an eligibility card through Colorado Parks and Wildlife, with fees attached to the process. Potential buyers must undergo a background check through a county sheriff’s department, and residents have to complete a firearm safety course and pass an exam with a score of 90% or higher to purchase that weapon. These changes are the result of passage of senate bill 25-003.
