Another setback for Colorado Governor Jared Polis. He has tried twice to order state labor officials to turn over records to federal immigration officials related to the sponsors of migrant children in Colorado. And for the second time since June Polis was rebuffed by a Denver judge. Polis first filed a request in March of last year, which was turned aside by a judge last June. Denver judge Bruce Jones said in his decision Tuesday if the state filed a subpoena to force state labor officials to turn over those documents it would likely be a violation of state law. Jones said this second request from Polis looked just like the first attempt last year.
