Halfway

Saturdays AF Mens Basketball game at San Jose State is the halfway point in the conference season. The Falcons are 3-5 in the MW with 10 games left. Time to get on a run and make some noise in the MW Tournament, and secure a post season tourney berth somewhere, but also time to let…MORE

A SPECIAL NIGHT

Tues 1-7-20..Clune Arena came alive with more than 4500 in attendance, many of them cadets, who watched Air Force dismantle Utah State 79-60. It was both a reminder of the past (Joe Scott 03-04) and perhaps a taste of what could be the rest of this season. The Academy enticed cadets to show up to…MORE

ONE FINAL TEST

It’s been an amazing year for the Air Force football team. A 10-2 regular season, wins over CU, CSU, and Wyoming, going back to a bowl for the first time in 3 years, a legitimate opponent in Washington State (sorry South Alabama and Western Michigan) And Friday Night December 27th the final game of the…MORE

FINDING WAYS TO WIN

That’s exactly what the Air Force football team has done the last 2 weeks. The Falcons are one of the hottest teams in the nation. Their last loss was 7 weeks ago. And they have had to come up with some creative ways to get wins. 2 weeks ago they trailed Colorado State 14-0, yet…MORE

3 LEFT……..

Saturday the Air Force Falcons resume their football season, going for the “Colorado Sweep” as they face Colorado State in Fort Collins. The Falcons, with a win over C-U early this year, can win the unofficial Colorado College Football Crown, by beating the Rams. The sudden and sad death of a New Mexico football player…MORE

ARMY

Army comes to Colorado Springs Saturday to face the Air Force Football team at 130 on 740 KVOR. The largest crowd of the year will gather to watch the Falcons try and end a 2 game losing streak against the Black Knights. Regardless of the outcome the Falcons won’t win the Commander In Chiefs Trophy…MORE

A PLEASANT DILEMMA

“Who’s your Quarterback?” Football coaches hate that question. They hate talking about quarterbacks, they hate even having to think about the topic. But it confronts head coach Troy Calhoun and the Falcons this week as they play Utah State Saturday night at 815 on 740 KVOR. His starter Donald Hammond went down with an upper…MORE

PARADISE, OR DANGER

Don’t be fooled by the ocean, the warm temperatures, bikinis, the beach or anything else in Hawaii. Saturdays AF Football game against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors is fraught with danger. (Love that phrase) It’s never an easy trip to begin with because it’s so far away. You get there and paradise smacks you right in…MORE

TURBULENT AIR AHEAD?

Saturdays Air Force game vs Fresno State is the start of a difficult 4 game stretch (5, if you count last week) of games that could set the tone for the rest of the season. At 3-2 the Falcons are still in the hunt for the division title, although technically 2 games back of Boise…MORE

Navy

A cold and empty display case stands somewhere in Clune Arena and in Annapolis Maryland. For years it housed the Commander In Chiefs Trophy, emblematic of college football supremacy among Air Force, Army and Navy. The Falcons have not had that trophy since 2016, Navy since 2015.  The Falcons have won the trophy 20 times…MORE
