A wildfire in southern El Paso County prompted an evacuation for a short time Monday afternoon before being brought under control. The fire was reported in a field east of Grinnell Boulevard and Bradley road south of the Colorado Springs Airport. A neighborhood along Passing Sky Drive was evacuated for a brief time. The fire grew to 40 acres before being knocked down by the Security-Widefield fire Department. No word on its cause.
