Authorities have not yet released the identity of a man who opened fire, wounding two Colorado State Patrolman outside Woodland Park Tuesday morning. One of the patrolman pulled a car over with the suspect the lone occupant. He immediately opened fire, hitting the first patrol officer. A second patrolman was just coming on the scene, and he was also hit by gunfire. The man sped off prompting a shelter in place order. He was tracked down to a home in a nearby subdivision. As Teller County Sheriff’s deputies approached, he began shooting. One deputy fired back several times and the gunman was killed. One patrolman remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
