In a Facebook post, Palmer Ridge High School Head Football Coach Zach Carlton announced his team will play Lutheran High school as scheduled. The Parker school has come under fire after allegations of fans and supporters of the football team yelling racists comments and threats to opposing teams’ fans. Coronado High School and Air Academy have already forfeited games against Lutheran citing incidents involving fans at Sand Creek and Rampart High schools earlier this year. In his post Thornton says his decision to play the game is not an acceptance or endorsement of racism, but rather a demonstration by his team of the values they are developing in their players. He added his players and team will represent their school with class and dignity while standing firmly against racism and discrimination
