Several wildfires are burning in Southern Colorado. The largest is on the grounds at Fort Carson where officials said Wednesday the blaze has charred 1600 acres. At last report it was 60 percent contained. No word on the cause……in Fremont County along Highway 115 the “24” fire has been upgraded to 65 acres. It is burning in the 7000 block of Highway 115 in the Penrose area. No containment number was available. And a 3rd fire has been reported, the Buttemilk fire, in the 200 block of County Road 179 just northwest of Westcliffe in Custer County. No buildings have been destroyed. There are evacuation orders in the area. Officials say it’s burned 61 acres and is 80% contained as of Thursday morning.
