A new update Wednesday morning on the 24 fire burning along Highway 115 southwest of Colorado Springs. Fort Carson is now reporting containment of the blaze is up to 44% percent. The blaze remains at 7404 acres. Firefighters said crews were able to strengthen control lines around the fire the past couple of days. There are no reports of any structures being damaged and no injuries. Officials believe the fire started when a car pulled off Highway 115 for some unknown reason. Temperatures the next two days will be in the 80’s complicating firefighting efforts, but a cold front is expected Thursday night which will drop temperatures by as much as 40 degrees on Friday.
