Meta to pay Colorado, other states billions in settlement

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser announced Wednesday morning social media platform Meta has agreed to pay 47 states including Colorado over 17 billion dollars for claims that Instagram and Facebook have addictive features, exposing children to serious mental harm. Colorado will see 615 million dollars of that settlement which will be spread out over 9 years. Meta has also agreed to daily time limits and pauses for children who use Instagram and Facebook, and nighttime blocks as well. Those limits will be in effect for 5 years.
