Monday Colorado Springs City Council received 2 appeals to stop “Project Taurus,” plans for an A-I data center on Garden of the Gods. On July 23rd the Colorado Springs Planning Commission denied an appeal for Project Taurus, allowing the project to move forward. However, Colorado Springs City Council will have the final word on the plan. It’s unclear who filed the appeals. Raeden is the company that wants to open the A-I center in the springs. They responded to complaints that the plant would use too much water and would be too loud by saying they would use 200 thousand gallons of water which would be a fixed rate, and the noise level would not exceed city limits of 45 decibels. No word on when city council members will vote on the matter.
