In the days leading up to gun law changes in Colorado that began August 1st some 60 thousand Coloradoans purchased new guns. In the month of July gun sales shot up 195% from July 2025. The new law, Senate bill 25-003 mandates that people purchasing certain automatic weapons must complete a safety course, take an exam and pass that test with a score of 90% or better. They must also get an eligibility card from Colorado Parks and Wildlife and file paperwork with a county sheriff’s office.
