Buc-ee’s still wants to build a travel center at I-25 and County Line Road. Earlier this year they purchased two parcels of land at that location. They asked El Paso County if the travel center could be designated as a convenience store to meet land code requirements. The county’s planning and community development director said he was unable to make that determination. Now the town of Monument is asking El Paso County to stand by that decision. Buc-ee’s is appealing. Monument officials want the county to deny the appeal.
