El Paso County Commissioners are holding a meeting to hear an appeal from Buc-ee’s on a determination the county’s planning and community development director made regarding land use. Buc-ee’s, after failing to annex land from Palmer Lake, bought land at I-25 and county line road. That land is zoned for a variety of uses including a convenience store. Buc-ee’s wants their travel center to be classified as a convenience store. Earlier this summer the planning and development director said she could not make that determination. Today’s meeting will focus on Buc-ee’s appeal of that ruling. Today’s meeting is only to decide the land use question.
