Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser is joining more than two dozen states in a lawsuit against the United States Postal Service after the Supreme Court and a lower court judge ruled the postal service can limit who gets mail-in ballots. President Trump says illegal immigrants are voting with mail-in ballots. He issued a directive that those ballots should only go to legal citizens whose names are on lists generated by the government. These orders will not affect ballots going out for the 2026 Colorado state elections. County clerks around the state are looking at other ways to get ballots to voters if these orders hold for future elections.
